I had the pleasure of sampling some of Tzuco's signature dishes, and I must say, the Tetela and Maiz dessert truly stood out. The Tetela's harmonious blend of flavors left me craving more, while the unique presentation of the Maiz dessert, with its corn ice cream, was a delightful surprise for my taste buds.

Yelpers what's good? I should've been did this review. The wifey has been wanting to come here so we dropped in. The restaurant is a beautiful modern place to dine. I loved the open kitchen where you can see the chefs preparing the food and you can get a great smell of all the deliciousness. We made it pretty easy for our server as we had viewed the menu and knew what we wanted. Our server wasn't that attentive to us as we had to continue to look for her. She kept disappearing although the service wasn't 5 star or even 3 star I left a nice tip. Now on to the food. We ordered the heirloom tomatoes, garlic Parmesan fries, chili relleno & the costillas de res. The Heirloom tomatoes were fresh and had different flavors, nice and sweet. It came with a basil oil that was great for the dish. But it did need some salt. 7.5/10 We had to get salt from the kitchen because they didn't have any salt or pepper on tables. The chili rellenos were absolutely delicious!! Very well seasoned. 9/10 The costillas de res was another hit!! So flavorful and huge. 9.5/10 A beautiful presentation! We had the garlic Parmesan fries with was average at best. 5/10 We spent $117 not including tip. The service didn't match the food! Delicious food & subpar service. All in all I'd return. Remember all reviews are subjective.

This restaurant is phenomenal. Everything, everyone is absoloutely perfect. The decor, ambiance (music), service, beverages, food preparation, flavor, and presentation are the highest quality. We were a group of nine from senior citizens to children. We all loved the food and space. Christian was an excellent knowledgeable server as was all his team. I specified the music I liked and BAM! it was playing!!! Everything is served generously so it can be shared!!! Lots of serving spoons!!!! You don't even have to ask. The meats were all seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. The sides were awesome. We had the Pibil, the Costilla, the Barbacoa, the Chile Relleno, the Esquites, the Broccolini. You get corn and flour tortillas. The appetizers were marvelous, too. We had the guacamole, the heirloom tomatoes, the pulpo enamorado, and the ceviche maya, all exceptional. The agua the Jamaica was the best. The Negroni cocktails and the Margaritas were great and the virgin fruit drinks, too!!! The desserts were enjoyed by everyone, too! So original!!! ( They also have individual perches for the purses and coats, etc. Just like in the CDMX!!!!) If you are in Chicago and miss authentic high end Mexican street food, yes, an oxymoron, you must visit Tzuco. I wish we had a Mexican Restaurant like this one in Atlanta, GA. Believe me, you will get the best total immersive Mexico restaurant experience.

Came here for brunch with a group, including my baby. They had the high chair ready when we arrived (I had left a note in the reservation). The food was amazing. We had the chorizo crepe, chilaquiles, and quesabirria. Everything was really good, but everyone's favorite was the chorizo crepe. It was unique, nice texture, and the sauce had a good kick. The service and ambiance were great. I'd definitely come back!

The atmosphere is fabulous! From the tables to the restrooms, this place transports you outside of Chicago. The food is delicious- we went for brunch. The Mexican pizza and the burger were amazing. Will be back again!

This is probably the best Mexican restaurant I've been to. The dishes are not only tasty but also creative and offer more complex flavor profiles. Our group ordered several appetizers and only two main dishes: Guacamole, Tetela (stuffed corn masa), Pulpo Enamorado (roasted octopus), Mayan Ceviche (Hamachi), Esquites (sweet corn), Cochinita Pibil (pork shank), and Costillas de Res (braised short ribs). We also shared Guava Pavlova (sorbet) for dessert. Most impressive were Tetela (stuffed corn masa) and Pulpo Enamorado (roasted octopus), and the dessert was also uniquely flavorful. The two main dishes (pork shank and braised short ribs) were quite large, and we were unable to finish them, even though we tried hard because they were so tasty. Overall, we all had a great dining experience.

A good restaurant with tasty drinks and good food, plenty of outdoor seating (with heat lamps), plus a nicely decorated interior space (mood lighting, lots of brass). We all found the bathroom with its hidden entrance door and modern-adobe-farm vibe entertaining. RESERVATIONS Made a few weeks in advance for 5 people on a Tuesday night. THE COST $312.14 total for dinner + drinks for five people. DRINKS * Mexico City Sour ($16) - 4 stars. Very refreshing, good balance of flavors. This was no longer on the menu but I saw photos on Yelp, and they still made it for me. * Pibil ($16) - 4.5 stars. Lovely, spicy, herbacious, complex, smoky. Both my drinks they lit on fire. APPETIZERS * Tlacoyo ($14) - 3 stars. Not a standout in my memory, I don't think it was too impressive of a dish. * Mayan Ceviche ($22) - 4.5 stars. Very fresh, nicely done. * Mejillones ($25) - 4 stars. Nice mussels, a crazy chunk of sourdough, the sauce reminded everyone of pizza sauce. MAINS * Barbacoa ($39) - 4 stars. Unique that this was lamb. Tasty sauce, soft meat. * Chile Relleno ($26) - 3 . This was fine, but not too impressive or memorable. DESSERTS * Durazno ($18) - 4.5 stars. The peach mousse, the crumbles, the ice cream on the bottom, all made for a great combination of textures & flavors. * Gianduja ($16) - 4 stars. Much more on the sweet side, this was tasty but had less diversity of flavors.

What an amazing meal! I love top chef, and am always looking to find chefs restaurants and this was a star. The food was outstanding and we got a bunch of apps to share. The tuna was absolutely amazing, and as always my favorite was the octopus. It. Was. Stellar. The sourdough bread with the cheese and mushrooms, was a standout as well. So. Delicious. I don't eat meat but the steak tartare look amazing, however I sure did try the bread, and absolutely loved it :) The desserts were standout, I got a corn ice cream that was absolutely knockout, and would go back just for that. Service was stellar, the ice was perfect in the cocktails and it was well worth a visit. Definitely will be back :)

Overall a great meal and experience. Tuna ceviche and Cochinita Pibil were both great, but the two items that stood out: 1) Tetela was fantastic! Great combination of flavors. You'll want another one after finishing it 2) Maiz dessert - the corn ice cream presentation was unique and delicious! Great sweet and a little savory mix.

I'm Mexican (as in, born and raised there and still a citizen) and, admittedly, can be picky/snooty about my Mexican food. This place is everything it's hyped up to be. Everything from the cocktails to the food to the ambiance and even the service was fantastic. I could write paragraphs on each item I tasted, but I'll focus on just one: the cochinita pibil was EASILY the best I've tasted in the United States and possibly the best I've ever had. Just so rich, delicious, and falling apart on my fork, the way it should. Yum. Everyone in my party enjoyed their entrees, but everyone kept asking for bites of my cochinita. Can't blame them. All of the desserts were great, too, and super creative. So glad to have tried this place before it wins a Michelin star. Can't wait to visit again.
